Founder of High-Performance Surf, Jaycob Milstein, was born in San Francisco, California, and raised across the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County. He grew up visiting family on the South Shore of Oahu and has always loved playing in the ocean. He started surfing at age 9, but surfing really became his passion at 16, when he got his driver's license and could drive to the beach every day after school! After finishing high school, he began working at a surf camp in Bolinas, providing private surf lessons for all ages and skill levels and guiding the more advanced surf group during summer camp and the after-school surf program. Jaycob also worked for the MT Tam Racket Club summer camp and then transferred to the YMCA, where he served as an after-school program leader for 3 years, primarily planning outdoor sports activities for youth.
Fast-forward to today: here we are after surfing almost every day and scoring all over the world, including Indonesia, Peru, El Salvador, Morocco, Hawaii, France, and up and down the Northern California Coast. Jaycob decided to start his own surf company, tailored for intermediate/advanced surfers who want to push their limits and improve their surf skills locally in Marin County, California.
Jaycob is Red Cross Lifeguard Certified with CPR, AED, and First Aid. He also has an Emergency Medical Technician 1 Certification.
