Arrival
Beach Arrival & Briefing
The group arrives at the day’s break. Beach orientation, gear check, and session briefing. Coaches assess conditions and outline the day’s coaching focus, specific to each participant, and how they are looking to improve their surfing.
Morning
Surf Session
Structured water time is built around the 4 pillars of surfing — wave knowledge, board control, maneuvers, and surf fitness.
Coaches provide in-water safety supervision and personalized guidance to ensure each surfer is supported, progressing, and surfing within their ability level at all times. Video footage is captured each day and used for ongoing review and individual coaching throughout the week. This allows surfers to see how they can level up their surfing and get feedback from coaches after the session.
12:30 pm
Lunch Break
Group breaks for lunch. A great opportunity to recharge, decompress, and connect with fellow campers before the afternoon session.
Please ensure your child comes prepared with a packed lunch and sufficient water each day.
Afternoon
Footage Review & Second Session
Coaches review the previous day's footage with the group, highlighting technique, wave selection, and individual progress. Additional water time follows where conditions allow. On the final day (Aug 6), the full week’s footage is reviewed together as a group. Highlighting progress made throughout the week and what each surfer can continue to work on to become a more well-rounded surfer.

Daily Recap & Return to Mill Valley
Coaches recap the day’s sessions and individual highlights with the group. The next day’s surf location will be determined based on forecast and conditions — parents will be notified as soon as the location is confirmed.
Surf locations are selected daily based on conditions, crowd levels, and safety assessments. Coaches reserve the right to adjust locations at any time to maximize wave quality and participant safety.
(If Manzinita Park and Ride is closed or flooded, we will meet at the Good Earth parking lot.

Each session begins with a surf conditions and safety briefing custom to the surf break we are at that day. We review tides, swell, currents, and overall ocean awareness. Surfers then head out in small groups, allowing coaches to provide personalized guidance on positioning, wave selection, and technique. Sessions are focused on skill progression, helping youth steadily develop stronger surfing habits through feedback and experiencing quality surf breaks. After surfing, the group gathers for lunch, where we debrief on the session, highlight successes, and share tips for continued improvement. Every session is designed to support your youths surfing goals while building confidence, awareness, and a deeper connection with the ocean. We then head back out for a second session to work on what was reflected on during our post surf lunch debrief. At 3:00 pm we load up the van and head back to Mill Valley for pick up.
Ocean awareness, physical strength, peer camaraderie, and mentorship in the water from experienced local watermen. This program is designed for committed youth surfers who want to level up — in and out of the water. Your youth will gain the ability to surf in a wide range of local Northern California conditions so they can go out and do it confidently on their own!
